For All Concerned When
you are broadcasting a G.I. Radio Roundtable, you have a far greater
responsibility than when you are merely arguing issues in a private group. You
have a responsibility to your listeners, and to the country you represent. One
of your country’s traditions is free open discussion of public issues, as
exemplified in today’s radio roundtable. Let your program deserve the tradition
by being fair and democratic in spirit. The purpose is not that one man
should argue down another, but that all should work together toward a fuller understanding
of problems shared by all. If you remember this, G.I. Radio Roundtable
can be an example of democracy in action. It can help you and your friends
to see more clearly the world upheaval of our time, with the issues of the years
to come, and the part that you can play in them.
