CISH Extends Deadline for Poster Sessions
The deadline for proposing a poster presentation at the 20th International Congress of Historical Sciences (referred to by the French acronym, CISH) to be held in Sydney, July 3–9, 2005, has been extended to January 31, 2005. Proposal abstracts for poster sessions should be sent immediately to mwolf@incompass.com.au.
The poster sessions are an opportunity for students and other researchers
from around the world to present their projects to colleagues.
Posters will be displayed on bulletin boards and each poster “session” will
be of 2 hours duration.
Presenting authors are expected to be present beside their poster
and to give a short oral presentation during their allocated poster
session period. Individual presentations will be scheduled in sessions
organised thematically. Presentations are welcome from researchers
working in any field of historical inquiry. Submissions accepted
by the Poster Committee will be listed by title in the main Congress
program.
Although posters on any historical subject are welcome, they are especially so if they relate to one of the main themes of the Congress, which are: Humankind and Nature in History; Myth and History; War, Peace, Society and International Order in History.
CISH is a major international historical conference that meets every five years. In the past it has attracted 2,000 participants or more. All historical fields are catered for, and this is a rare opportunity to present work to a truly international audience.
