The Macquarie University Research Fellowship (MQRF) Scheme is about to open for formal Expressions of Interest.

Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia) will offer at least 6 full-time Research Fellowship positions commencing in 2016. Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis and will be fixed-term for three years. Applicants must have been awarded their PhD on or after 1st March 2012, or submit their thesis by 20th August 2015 (or make a convincing case for early career researcher status).

If you have an interest in applying for a Fellowship in the 2016 round through the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations, please send: 1. Your current CV with list of publications, as an email attachment with your surname in the file name. 2. Provisional project title and a very brief (200 word) project description, also as an attachment with your surname in the file name. to A/Prof Robert Reynolds (robert.reynolds@mq.edu.au) by Friday 15 May 2015. If the Department is able to sponsor your application, you will be notified by Tuesday 19 May 2015. Sponsored applicants will then be invited to work with their sponsors to develop their Expressions of Interest which must be submitted in their final form by 26 May 2015.

It is important that there is a good fit between the research interests of applicants and sponsors. For this reason, potential applicants are strongly advised to review the research profiles of potential sponsors from within the Discipline of Modern History in the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations. These can be viewed via the Department staff list at: http://www.mq.edu.au/about_us/faculties_and_departments/faculty_of_arts/mhpir/staff/

As well as being the home of The Big History Institute, staff in Modern History have research expertise in the following areas:

Biographic and Oral History

History of Ideas in Everyday Life

Public and Popular History

Histories of Gender and Sexuality
