The Department of History, University of Maryland, College Park, announces "Slavery, Freedom, and the Remaking of American History: A Conference in Honor of Ira Berlin," to be held on April 9-10, 2015.  The conference will feature papers by former students of Ira Berlin and by past and present members of the Freedmen and Southern Society Project.  The full conference program is available on the department's web site:  www.history.umd.edu.
