Register now for the 2015 Organization of American Historians Annual Meeting, featuring four days of networking with top scholars, researchers, students, public historians, community college instructors, archivists, and publishers. Take a deeper dive into complex and controversial historical "taboos." From race relations and religion to sexuality and slavery, learn how historians are challenging taboos in and out of the classroom. Get an inside look at the profession with state-of-the-field sessions, a mentoring program, and one-on-one career coaching. Choose from more than 100 engaging sessions, including professional development workshops, roundtables, and tracks on teaching and technology. Highlights: A plenary titled "American History from the Inside Out: Putting St. Louis's History of Cities, Suburbs, and Race Relations to Work to Reconfigure the National Narrative," a 8 p.m. Saturday "Community Conversation" about race relations and the controversy in Ferguson that is open to the public, and a plenary by Bob Maknoff, cartoon editor for The New Yorker, on "The Humor in History and the History of Humor." Ten receptions, including music from a 17-person St. Louis jazz ensemble, five organized city tours, and a St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. Enjoy an affordable, welcoming experience at #OAH2015. See you in St. Louis!
