The Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston will offer short-term and long-term research fellowships for the academic year 2015-2016. The first application deadline is in January.
MHS-NEH Long-term Fellowships are made possible by an award from the National Endowment for the Humanities, an independent federal agency. The stipend, governed by an NEH formula, will be $4,200 per month for a minimum of four months and a maximum of twelve months. The Society will also provide an allowance for housing and professional expenses. At least two awards will be made. Deadline: January 15, 2015.
Suzanne and Caleb Loring Fellowship on the Civil War, its Origins, and Consequences. The Boston Athenaeum and the MHS will offer one $4,000 fellowship for four weeks at each institution (at least 8 weeks total). Deadline: February 15, 2015.
MHS Short-term Fellowships of $2,000 will support four or more weeks of research in the MHS collections between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016. Approximately twenty awards will be made. Deadline: March 1, 2015.
The New England Regional Fellowship Consortium. The Society participates in this consortium of twenty-one organizations, which will make at least 15 awards in 2015. Each grant will provide a stipend of $5,000 for a total of eight or more weeks of research at three or more participating institutions. Application deadline: February 1, 2015.
