The Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery invite applications for the 2015-2016 James Renwick Fellowship in American Craft. This fellowship is available for research in American craft or decorative arts from the nineteenth century to the present. Fellowships are residential and support independent and dissertation research. Funding is available for a full-year predoctoral fellowship or a postdoctoral or senior appointment of up to eight months. Scholars with equivalent professional experience and publication history may also apply.

 

Support

The stipend for a one-year predoctoral fellowship is $32,700, plus research and travel allowances. The stipend for a postdoctoral or senior fellowship is $4,000 per month for up to eight months, plus research and travel allowances.
