Thinking Beyond the Canon: New Themes and Approaches in Jewish Studies is the topic fo an international conference for graduate students and junior scholars on March 8-9, 2015 at the University of California, Los Angeles.  Panels will focus on the untold stories of newly discovered or understudied figures who have helped shape Jewish history and culture, as well as those who approach Jewish studies research and teaching in innovative ways.  Proposals for papers are due October 31, 2014.  Travel stipends are available.
