ARCE administers research fellowships for American doctoral candidates in the all-but-dissertation stage enrolled in doctoral programs at universities worldwide, and for American post-doctoral and established scholars and professionals wishing to conduct research in Egypt. Fellowships are awarded for a minimum of three months and a maximum of twelve months depending on the funding source. Per diem provides sufficient funding to cover round-trip air transportation, a living allowance, mentoring and a home base in Egypt. Fields of study include: Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Art, Coptic Studies, Economics, Egyptology, History, Humanistic Social Sciences, Islamic Studies, Literature, Political Science, and Religious Studies.
