AJSA greatly encourages the next generation of writers to attend ASJA2014: Expand Your Reach, the 43rd Annual Writers Conference of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the nation’s professional association of independent nonfiction writers. More than 650 writers, editors, publishers and agents will gather in New York City on April 24-26, 2014 to learn from the best in the business. They will also hear from keynote speaker Daniel Jones, author of Love Illuminated: Exploring Life's Most Mystifying Subject (With the Help of 50,000 Strangers), has edited the "Modern Love" column in the Sunday Styles section of The New York Times since its inception in October 2004. Students receive a discounted rate. Friday: $125, no lunch. Saturday: $125; no lunch. Or Fri & Sat: $200, no lunch. Student identification is required. Additionally, the ASJA Educational Foundation is delighted to offer aspiring nonfiction writers the opportunity to apply for scholarships that will enable them to attend ASJA2014: Expand Your Reach. Thanks to a generous grant from Amazon.com, ASJA can offer scholarships to writers who are serious about starting or continuing a nonfiction freelance writing career.
