American Historical Review
Since 1895, the Review has been the major journal of record for the historical profession in the United States—the only journal that brings together scholarship from every major field of study. The Review is published five times a year (in February, April, June, October, and December). Review volumes are published by the calendar year.
Institutional Subscriptions
Starting with the October 2007 issue, the University of Chicago Press now publishes the American Historical Review for the AHA. Numerous subscription options are available. Institutional subscribers through the University of Chicago Press now have full access to the online version (all articles and book reviews) of the American Historical Review, including both current issues and the archive of back issues going back to June 1999.
Access to American Historical Review (articles only) prior to 2008 is available through the History Cooperative, a joint project with the Organization of American Historians, University of Illinois Press, and the National Academy Press. Access is enabled through the use of institutional IP numbers. To activate access for your institution, you may use the form at http://www.historians.org/HistoryCoop/.
Perspectives on History
Over the past decade, Perspectives on History has become the national news monthly of the historical profession, providing articles and commentary on important people, events, and trends--including museum exhibitions, film, and teaching. Perspectives on History also includes the most comprehensive current listings of employment openings in academia. Perspectives on History is published nine times a year, monthly except in the summer.
Subscribing: This publication is available through a Perspectives on History subscription ($65 per year (nine issues) for domestic subscribers, $85 foreign. Contact the membership office) or through the Department and Organization Services Program.
Single copies of Perspectives on History are $8 each and can be ordered from the membership office.
The AHA Annual Meeting Program
The AHA's annual meeting is held each year in early January. The Program contains details on sessions, affiliated society events, the book exhibit, and the Job Center. It is distributed to members by mail in October before the January meeting. The Program is available with a subscription to Perspectives on History or by single-copy order of $7 through the membership office.
Library Subscription Rates
Perspectives on History is published nine times a year (monthly from September to May) and is available as a free-standing subscription to institutions. The price is $65 per year (nine issues) for domestic subscribers, $85 foreign and will continue to include the Association's annual meeting program published each October.
