Discounted Admission to Maritime Museum of San Diego

The Maritime Museum of San Diego offers reduced price admission of $8 to annual meeting attendees upon presentation of their AHA badges. The museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and is located at 1492 North Harbor Drive near the corner of Ash Street a few blocks west of Interstate 5. The County Center/Little Italy trolley station on the Blue line is only two blocks from the museum. See the museum’s web site at www.sdmaritime.org for a map and complete directions. The Maritime Museum has a worldwide reputation for excellence in restoring, maintaining, and operating historic vessels. It has one of the world’s finest collections of historic ships, including the world’s oldest active ship, the Star of India. The museum displays permanent and temporary exhibits on maritime history, commerce, and exploration. Its collection includes the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley; the 1904 steam yacht Medea; the 1914 Pilot; the state’s official tall ship Californian, a replica of a mid-19th-century revenue cutter; and the HMS Surprise, a replica of an 18th-century Royal Navy frigate featured in the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
