about the American Historical Association's
2003 Annual Meeting
Business Meeting
The AHA Council, divisions, and
committees will report to the Association at the annual business meeting.
Reports are subject to discussion and appropriate motions relating to
them. Resolutions on other matters for the business meeting will be handled
as follows: (1) resolutions signed by 25 members of the Association will
be accepted until December 15, 2002; (2) resolutions received by October
15, 2002, will take precedence and will be published in the December issue
of Perspectives; and (3) resolutions must be no more than 300 words in
length. Resolutions should be sent to the Executive Director at the AHA
headquarters, with a copy to the Parliamentarian, Michael Les Benedict,
Department of History, Ohio State University, 230 West 17th Avenue, Columbus,
OH 43210.
At its meeting on May 1516, 1980, the Council adopted the following
bylaw (as amended May 8&3150;9, 1994) pursuant to Article VII, Sections
15, of the constitution: No motion, resolution, or other business
shall be passed by a division of the members at the annual business meeting
unless there is present a quorum of 100 members in good standing.
Voting Cards
Voting cards will be distributed
to members at the meeting.
