Graduate Students' Resources Page Gets Updated

AHA Staff | May 1, 2007

The Committee for Graduate Students, chaired by Elise S. Lipkowitz, has, working in collaboration with Elisabeth Grant, AHA's web content editor, updated and redesigned the Resources for History Graduate Students page on the AHA web site (www.historians.org/grads). The page now has three sections: Graduate School from Start to Finish, Preparing for the Job Market, and More Resources. The Graduate School from Start to Finish section takes students step-by-step through the graduate school process: from admissions and acceptance to course work, preparing for comprehensive exams, conceptualizing a dissertation, networking, publishing, and more. In the second section students can find job market resources, with c.v., cover letter, and portfolio help, and links to sites that list jobs in academia, public history, or secondary education. The final section, "More Resources," links students to articles, books, and other sites that they may also find helpful.
