From the Letters to the Editor column of the January 2007 Perspectives

Some Missed Notes

To the Editor:

Two recent articles in Perspectives (December 2005 and November 2006) on using music in the classroom neglected to call readers' attention to two earlier, and perhaps groundbreaking, articles among the pages of this newsmagazine: Roderic H. Davison, "Teaching History with Song and Doggerel," Perspectives (November 1990) and Alex Zukas, "Different Drummers: Using Music to Teach History," Perspectives (September 1996). Readers today would still profit from their insights and suggestions.
