To the Editor:

After reading the most recent Annual Report of the American Historical Association, I could not help noting the following, especially in light of the opposition of so many AHA members to our involvement in Iraq:

• Turnout in the AHA election for officers: 19 percent
• Turnout in the Iraqi parliamentary election: 70 percent
