Announce
The Helen & Howard R. Marraro Prize for 2014

The late Howard R. Marraro made bequests to the American Historical Association, the American Catholic Historical Association, and the Society for Italian Historical Studies for the purpose of establishing by each society a Helen and Howard R. Marraro Prize in Italian history. Each association has appointed a member to a joint selection committee, and each has opened its competition for its 2014 prize.

1. Each award will be given for the book or article deemed best by the committee, which treats Italian history in any epoch, Italian cultural history, or Italian-American relations. Entries must first have been published in English by a historian whose usual residence is North America.

2. Books or articles with an imprint of 2013 are eligible for the 2014 award.

3. In addition to sending a copy of each prize entry to members of the selection committee, please complete the Data Collection Form at the link below. One form must be completed for each entry. Fields marked with a blue star are required.

Entries must be postmarked by or on MAY 15, 2014, to be considered. One copy of each work, together with a brief CV and bibliography of the author, must be received by each of the following committee members:

will be posted by March 30.

Please Note: The deadline for submission of entries is Thursday, May 15, 2014. Entries will not be returned. Recipients will be announced at the January 2-5, 2015, AHA annual meeting in New York City.
